The St. Augustine High School Alumni Association exists to strengthen the legacy of Purple Knights across generations. Our mission is simple and unwavering: support St. Augustine High School, uplift its students, and preserve the traditions that define Black excellence.
For decades, our alumni have stood at the heart of the school’s success. We are mentors, donors, leaders, business owners, educators, innovators, and community builders. The Alumni Association unites these voices and channels their collective power into meaningful action for today’s students.
Our Mission: Empowering Students and Preserving Legacy
The primary mission of the Alumni Association is to raise funds that directly support St. Augustine High School and its students. Through strategic fundraising, annual drives, corporate partnerships, and alumni engagement, we ensure the next generation of Purple Knights receives the resources, opportunities, and guidance they need to thrive.
Over the last five years, the Alumni Association has raised more than $150,000 in direct scholarship support. These scholarships are awarded to students who meet criteria established by the membership and reflect the school’s values of leadership, academic excellence, service, and character.

What We Do
Scholarship Funding
The Association invests directly in student success. Scholarships awarded by the Alumni Association help reduce financial barriers and empower young men who embody the St. Augustine mission. Our scholarships support academic achievement, leadership, community service, and perseverance.
School Support & Campus Enhancements
We partner with the school administration to identify high-impact needs—from technology upgrades to campus improvements, program support, and emergency resources. Alumni giving ensures the school remains a premier institution for young Black men.
Mentorship & Professional Development
Alumni connect with current students through panels, career guidance, internships, and networking opportunities. Purple Knights support Purple Knights for life.
Community Engagement
The Association represents St. Augustine proudly within New Orleans and beyond. We participate in civic initiatives, partner with local organizations, and amplify the school’s long-standing role as a cultural and educational pillar.
Events & Fellowship
The bond between Purple Knights is lifelong. Through homecoming activities, regional alumni chapters, service projects, social events, and networking forums, we create meaningful opportunities for alumni to reconnect and strengthen our brotherhood.
